We welcome your questions!
Take a look through these FAQ’s to learn more about how we do things at KT Production. We’re happy to answer all your questions about our mailing production services.
Why should I choose KT Production?
- Our track-record
- Attention to details
- Unparalleled print and mailing experience
We care about you and we care about your projects. Each of the team members on our well-rounded crew has extensive experience in every aspect of mailing and printing.
We put everything we’ve got into providing excellent work for you because it means a lot to us. If there are any wrinkles along the way, we’ll lose sleep making it right. And of course — we are just plain nice people – we think you’ll really like working with us.
I don’t know the first thing about printing or mailing. How will you know what to do?
The printing & mailing world is packed with confusing terminology. Let us bridge our printing and mailing world to the world you work in no matter what it is.
Over the years, we’ve managed and produced so many different types of mailings that we’ve become highly skilled at asking all the right questions. That’s important because it’s those conversations that help us flesh out the details of what you need.

Will KT Production be able to stay within my budget? Are there any added costs, after you submit your quote?
As long as the specs and scope of work doesn’t change (quantity and details), we will meet or beat the budget every time! We don’t want you to have any surprises at the end (and we REALLY don’t like being off-budget).
If your specs change as the project develops, we’ll let you know how the changes will affect the pricing.
What exactly would I be responsible for?
- You are responsible for delivering art and data files in good order according to the schedule;
- reviewing and approving printing proofs and personalization samples in a timely manner;
- and forwarding postage funds in advance as requested. We really care about your project, and those are the things we need most from you to help things to go smoothly.
What quality controls do you have in place?
One of the best quality controls we have is that we always have two sets of eyes on proofs — printing and personalization — yours and ours!
Beyond those two sets of eyes:
- We double-check every production step.
- Our production partners don’t do anything without our approval.
- We review/check/approve data programming, personalization samples, package insertions, and live mail packages before we give drop approvals.
What is the average turn-time for a mailing?
Depending on the scope of the particular job, the range is from 2-6 weeks.
A typical mailing takes about 4 weeks — with 2 weeks devoted to printing and 2 weeks devoted to a full mailshop production process.
A simpler project could take as little as 2 weeks, and a more complicated specialty package (such as inline, address labels, or membership cards) could stretch to 6 weeks.
How do you choose which printers/mailshops to use?
We know what each printer/mailshop is good at, which basically means will have the best pricing for you. We select the suppliers who have the proper equipment and capabilities for your specifications, based on our knowledge of print & mail industry equipment capabilities.
What about Postage Fund Requests and USPS proof of Mailings?
We coordinate postage fund requests, and USPS proof of mailings.
